Makari Siberian Huskies!


Our name means "Blessed" in Russian. We Love our huskies with all our heart and soul and that is why we keep it small, simple and healthy. The Siberian Husky is a wonderful breed. They are great with kids and very affectionate. We are very blessed to have such wonderful dogs here. We have show dogs and rescues who live here with me and my family. Redeeming Qualities
· Siberians are very intelligent.
· Siberians are very loving and make excellent companions.
· Siberians are great for athletic people and enjoy hiking, walking, jogging, and just about any other activity.
· Siberians are clowns and keep you laughing all the time!
· Siberians are attractive dogs with a wild look.


Not so Redeeming Qualities
· Siberians are very intelligent and get bored easily.
· Siberians have a high prey drive. They may kill small animals including cats.
· Siberians can be escape artists.
· Siberians dig and dig and dig! 
· Siberians are very pack-oriented. They cannot tolerate long periods of isolation. If you work long hours you will need to get your dog a companion or look into a different breed.
· Siberians shed a HUGE amount of fur twice a year. If you value a spotless home this may not be the breed for you. 


Capable of strong affection for his family, the Siberian Husky is also very friendly with strangers. So, if you want the fierce loyalty of a one-man dog . Siberians are not for you!

The Siberian Husky is not a watch dog, although those ignorant of his true nature may be frightened by his appearance. If you want a dog with aggressive guard-dog instincts . Siberians are not for you!


The most dangerous to the pet owner is their tremendous desire to RUN. But the very first dash that a puppy makes across the road could be his last run, anywhere. A Siberian, for his own protection, should be kept confined or under control at all times. If you are one of those people who think it is cruel to kennel a dog, or keep him confined in his own backyard . Siberians are not for you!

  • Nice site! I have been researching Huskey's online tonight because one just adopted us. Yes, he adopted us. What a sweet dog!!! Is not agressive toward my small children at all. He was a stray at a lake we were camping at last week and one of the other campers a few rows from us hit him with a golf club in front of my kis. Needless to say, my husband and I didn't think it was right for us to just leave him there to be hurt or worse. It took 2 baths from us and then grooming from Petco to get him cleaned up but now he is beautiful. He is a copper or blonde color. He's very skinny but is very healthy per the vet. He's awesome! My cats are even adjusting to him after hiding under my bed for 2 days from him. lol! Thank you for your website. It was very informative.

  • I just found a siberian husky its still looks like a puppy it has a blue eye and a brown eye. My mother says that she doesn't want me to keep it and thinks its dangerous b.c it has wolf in it. I dn't think its dangerous its not like its a tiger or anything. And u were true about the escape artist it dug out of its cage. And then somehow was on the other side of the fence.

  • I LOVE your site! It's wonderful and all your huskies are absolutely beautiful! I love Huskies so much! I currently do not own a Husky myself but my brother does. Our neighbor actually wants to breed her girl and our boy and sell the puppies. I noticed our Husky has a bit of a red tint on his black coat and is actually a bit copper. If he mates with our neighbor's husky that is also balck, is it possible that they could have a copper husky? I think maybe our dog has copper fur in his DNA. His parents weren't copper though. I've always wanted a copper husky so it would be a dream if one of his pups were copper!

  • Lori, Nashoba is just to die for. I posted pictures of his sister Natahala and her litter on our website. They are all Silver agouti with blue eyes and woolly coats like Nashoba. So tell Nashoba he is an uncle now! www.k9-pines.com Melisa

  • Hi Lori,

    Sierra continues to be a joy in our lives. I have never had a dog so intelligent and with so much personality. She has gone the last 2 years with us to a Thanksgiving poker run in Parker. She rides with her austrailian sheperd buddy Harley in the back of a VW bug. All along the ride she gets compliments on how beautiful she is and how mellow too. Thanks again so much.
